Description Engineer 4 **Confidential Security Clearance Required*** PLC, Automation and Control engineer with experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, performing shop testing, writing PLC programs for Allen Bradley and Rockwell controllers. Position Specifics: Must have experience designing electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. Must be able to obtain a Confidential Security Clearance. The Engineer 4 will be responsible for Engineering and CAD and hands on services developing and reviewing electrical PLC requirements, programming schematics, and arrangement drawings. He/she will work independently, explain system characteristics, and provide technical guidance to designers and other engineers. Travel up to 20% of the time to perform ship checks and surveys. Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. Engineer in Training (EIT) will be considered. Develops and applies advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex technical problems. Develops and applies advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex technical problems. Plans, conducts, and evaluates projects or moderate phases of significant projects, coordinating efforts with engineers and staff. Conducts investigations and tests of advanced complexity. May direct teams in the performance of complex tasking. Knowledge of all phases on the engineering discipline. Considered expert in field of specialty. Masters Degree + 7; Bachelors Degree in Engineering (i.e., Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, etc.) and +10 OR Bachelor’s Degree in the Physical Sciences (i.e., Physics, Chemistry, etc.) + 12. 2 years’ experience may be substituted with PE License. Ability to supervise technical staff. Considered expert in field. Ability to apply comprehensive knowledge on engineering practices and techniques to complex situations and non-routine tasks. Ability to interact and present technical information verbally and in writing (briefings, presentations, training, etc) to internal and external customers. Ability to use prescribed mathematical formulas and models to calculate measures for assemblies, equipment or systems. Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Proficient in the use of PCs and word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, desktop applications, and electronic mail programs and of standard test equipment to identify and isolate problems (i.e., digital meters, oscilloscopes, strain and pressure gauges). Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift. Possible exposure to fumes and irritants normally encountered in an industrial or shipboard environment. May involve gathering of data while observing machinery or equipment operations
