The Process Improvement Engineer will champion process improvement activities by aiding plant teams to improve the process by identifying root cause, reducing process variation, reducing waste, improving quality, improving productivity and reducing cost. Position requires troubleshooting process issues and providing resolution. The individual must be able to work independently and act as a leader/member of a team to identify and design solutions to technical issues and to improve process control and reduce costs. The Process Engineer's duties will include the following: Lead the execution of quality and process improvement projects and activities using Six Sigma or Qual Pro process improvement tools. Plan and execute capital improvements resulting from process improvement projects. Lead process design reviews, raw material qualification and product and process qualification and capability studies. Perform PPA/FMEA on all major process and raw material changes. Train production personnel on Six Sigma or Qual Pro process tools. Research and implement innovative new process technologies to improve raw material yields and equipment productivity and reliability. Write operational procedures that facilitate the reduction of process variation. The Process Engineer must meet the following requirements : A BS Engineering (EE, ME, Chem E, prefer Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years experience and a thorough knowledge of statistics, SPC, DOE/MVT and root cause analysis. The ideal candidate will have Six Sigma Green Belt or Qual Pro experience and have the ability to be innovative and to perceive and implement new ideas to improve the process. |
