Control Systems Engineer- Lead responsibility for technical direction of a group of engineers as a technical specialist formulating and developing advanced engineering concepts, techniques, and standards related to industrial automation systems ( DCS, SIS, TMR, PLC, machinery monitoring, surge control, control panels, communications links, etc.). Develops solutions to complex problems that require a high degree of innovation and ingenuity. Researches, develops and designs a variety of equipment, products, and automation systems for industrial purposes. Evaluates the desired goal of the system and develops, designs, or selects the required equipment, controls, and components to achieve the goal. Performs calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial applications. Participates in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects. Directs activities to ensure that fabrication, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements. Maintains effective communication with project team members with the customer.Uses computer- assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering task. This positions requires the assumption of Project Systems Lead duties, being able to coordinate and work with other task force disciplines, project management and client representatives. the individual must have diverse knowledge of industrial automation systems, be able to develop logic using Boolean, block diagrams and ladder logic plus have extensive engineering knowledge of DCS, TMR, and PLC's. A reasonable knowledge of the design portion of project execution including, location plans, installation details, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams and panel/ console design. This position requires being able to prepare effort hour estimates, maintain project status log, update project schedule and supervise other personnel. 15+ years experience in oil and gas petrochemical, pipeline or refinery. |
